What we're doing

We want to understand how people use the pay as you go contactless payment system on trains in Wales. We want to find out:

  • What do you know about Pay as you go?
  • Are you currently using or have you used Pay as you go or similar schemes?
  • Do you use our Pay as you go app and related services?
  • What are the barriers stopping you from using pay as you go?

Your contributions will help us improve our pay as you go service and accessibility for everyone using public transport in Wales. You can get involved in a number of ways:

  • Take part in our quick polls
  • Join the conversation by posting your comments in the forum


A chance to enter our prize draw

You’ll also be entered into a prize draw for the change to win:

  • 1st place will win a £100 Love2Shop voucher

Who is organising and who is funding/commissioning the project?

This project is organised by Transport for Wales, who'll use the findings in order to enhance the pay as you go service.

  • Tell us about your experience of Pay as you go

    This survey consists of a number of questions about TfW’s Pay as you go contactless payments service.

    We want to hear about peoples experience of Pay as you go and whether you have used contactless payments for your rail journeys within Wales.

    This survey should take around 5-15 minutes, depending on the detail of your answers.
