Help Shape the Future of Carmarthen Railway Station
We want to hear about your experience of using Carmarthen Railway Station.
Whether you travel by train regularly, occasionally, or choose other forms of transport instead, your feedback will help us better understand how people use the station and what improvements could make journeys easier, safer, and more convenient.
The survey is open from 21 September until 12 October.
It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete the 10 questions. All responses will be used to help inform future improvements and planning.
Why are we doing this?
Carmarthen Railway Station is an important transport hub in South West Wales, connecting people to jobs, education, healthcare and leisure across Wales and beyond. The station also plays a role in connecting rail services with the Traws Cymru bus network, making it an important interchange for journeys across Wales.
As part of this project, we’re exploring how we could make the station better for changing between catching a train or bus and walking, wheeling and cycling.
We need your help to:
- · Identify common barriers to accessing and using Carmarthen Railway Station
- · Understand how you choose to travel and what influences your choices
- · Understand how bus and rail services can be better worked together
- · Learn about your priorities for improving passenger experience
Who should take part?
We would like to hear from:
- · People who travel by car, bus, walking, wheeling or cycling
- · Individuals who don’t currently or regularly use the railway station
- · Anyone who travels to, from, or through Carmarthen
Every voice is important and will help us build a better understanding of local travel needs.
It’s important to remember funding isn’t guaranteed yet. By having your say you can help us support our case to secure funding to propose improvements based on your feedback.
Public Drop In
We’ll also be at Carmarthen Railway Station from 08:00 until 18:00 on Thursday 24 September to hear your thoughts so please come and see us if you can!
About Carmarthen Railway Station
Carmarthen Railway Station is situated on Station Road in the heart of Carmarthen.
With two platforms, it offers direct rail links to places including Swansea, Cardiff, London and Manchester, as well as Pembroke, Fishguard and Milford Haven.
People can also connect onto the Traws Cymru bus there for journeys towards Glangwili Hospital, Lampeter, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth.
The station has a fully accessible changing place toilet, large waiting room, car and cycle parking, a booking office, a Customer Help point and staff available 24/7.

Take Survey
TfW is inviting residents, commuters and visitors who use Carmarthen Railway Station to share their views in a survey.
Feedback gathered through this consultation will help TfW understand how and why people use the station currently and identify opportunities to make journeys between different modes of transport (such as from train to bus) easier, safer and more convenient.
There are 10 questions across 2 sections:
• Section 1 – Carmarthen today (how you use the station currently)
• Section 2 – Future Carmarthen (what you think could be better)
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and will help us develop proposals for improving the station, should funding be secured in the future.
Carmarthen Engage Event:
On the 24 September 2026 we are organising a drop-in event at Carmarthen Railway Station. Please come to share your views, thoughts and ask any questions to the team. You can just show up when suits you, members of our team will be on hand between 08:00 and 18:00.
